‘Neuer’ injured during celebration, may miss second leg

Manuel Neuer suffered an injury while celebrating Bayern Munich’s second goal in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen. The

34-year-old was playing his 554th game for the Bavarians, helping keep a clean sheet and boost their chances of reaching the last eight.

Harry Kane scored twice to take his tally to 31 for the season, with Jamal Musiala also on the scoresheet.

However, Musiala picked up a calf injury while celebrating, leading to concerns that he could miss the game in a fortnight.

“We have talent in our team to continue. This was Jonas’s debut and you could have easier matches of course, but in the first months with us, he seems really calm and controlled in his actions.”
