Former France defender Adil Rami has urged Paul Pogba to sign for Marseille.
Pogba will be eligible to return to training in January after the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced his doping ban from four years to 18 months. Pogba
‘s previous deal with Juventus was due to expire in June 2026, however he has since terminated his contract with the club, which will become effective on November 30.
He is set to return to action in March, but it remains to be seen where he will end up, with a number of clubs linked with him, from former club Manchester United to Saudi Arabia.
However, Rami, who won the World Cup with Pogba in 2018, has suggested the 31-year-old midfielder should move to his home country of Marseille.
While the player has not shed any light regarding his next move, Marseille appear to be leading the race for Pogba’s signature, and Rami would like to see his compatriot at the Orange Velodrome.
“Rumours say you’re going to OM, so I want to tell you that if it’s true, I’m very happy – this team needs more character,” Rami said during a Twitch live stream

“There are rumours you’re going to Marseille. If it’s true I will be very happy. This team needs a bit more character.”
“If it’s true… “I will take 3, 4, 5 shirts to Marseille for you to sign. I will be very happy to see you at OM. We will talk about it.”
“Marseille is a very good choice. I hope you will choose this team. I will not put pressure on you because the market this period (winter) is very hectic.”
